Garden Center Retail Associate Position 

 Claussen's is looking for qualified candidates to assist in all aspects of our fast pace Retail Garden Center. This position requires a positive and energetic individual preferably with previous greenhouse experience. Sales Associates must have an excellent customer service and have genuine interest in the horticultural field. Basic plant knowledge and/or work experience in a garden center is a benefit, but not necessary.  Being able to work independently when needed and as a team is essential.

Applicants are expected to work a revolving schedule, including evenings and weekends. This is a full time position through August, with the possibility to stay employed through December.  Ability to start ASAP is essential for training.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operating cash register and computer invoicing.
• Answering multi line phones
• Assist in general care & question of plants.
• Maintaining retail space: re-stock, organize, set up, and display retails materials in the garden center.
• Ensure displays and retail space is swept and clean.
• Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
• Communicate with the Claussen's team on questions, concerns and feedback from customers.
• Ability to be cross trained in multiple areas of the business to accommodate seasonal demands.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1+ year in experience in retail or customer service setting
• Minimum of 1+ year of horticulture experience.
  
• knowledge of a variety of plants including basic plant care, quality issues, diseases and pests is a plus!
• Ability to life up to 30 lbs.
• Availability must be flexible and includes evenings and weekends.

Compensation is based upon previous experience, plant knowledge, and willingness to learn ranges between $12.00 - $15.00 per hour.
